Today has been a boring day. I have been working on my summer reading projects basically all day. I suddenly got the hiccups about ten minutes ago and they are horrible! I don't understand how people could possibly stand to live with these for over a day! Anyways, I decided to take a break and make a blog post about something strange that happened this morning.
I woke up to go to the eye doctor because I needed to get a new prescription for my contacts. I got there and the doctor person asked me if I could read the letters on the screen with my glasses, which I could do just fine. Then he had me take off my glasses so he could use the thingy to determine what my new prescription. It had been set to my old prescription so he assumed I could see fine with it. The strange this is, I couldn't see a thing! He went through and changed the prescription so it would suit my needs. He had one of the ladies that worked there get the contacts in the new prescription. I put them in and he tested my vision with them on. My right eye was fine, but my left eye was all messed up. He had the same lady get a higher prescription for my left eye, which conveniently matched my right eye. I changed the contact in my left eye out for the new one and I could see perfectly. With contacts my prescription is -5.25 in both eyes, but with glasses my prescription is -5.00 in my left eye and -5.25 in my right. My eyes refuse to make things simple for me.
Anyways, it took me maybe 10 minutes to write all this and I still have my hiccups!
Oh, btw, I got early access to Pottermore :DD my username is ProphecyRose110 and I'm a Ravenclaw.

memories
I like to describe memories as a painting of your past. Sometimes the paintings portray happiness, sadness, confusion, anger, or boredom. However, only you can see the painting and know the emotion is portrays. Others may have the same memory, just from their perspective. While you may think the painting portrays happiness from your point of view, the other person sees it as sadness from their perspective.
Imagine four kids ages 8-11 running around in a large yard surrounded by barns and corn fields across the road. The sky is turning black and the are throwing snap dragons at a blue school bus on a gravel pavement in front of a barn. Then change the image to the same kids running around with sparklers with a campfire burning nearby. This is my favorite memory. It's a painting in my mind that shows me at my happiest. The four children are my brother (Allen), my two cousins (Madison and Kaitlin), and me. We were at my Uncle Jeff's house for the Fourth of July and we were just having fun.
Now imagine yourself with a five-year-old golden retriever during the winter. You are throw a tennis ball and the dog chases it, throwing piles of snow behind her with every stride. She returns the ball and falls on the pavement of your driveway without making another movement. Then change the scene so you are crying in your mom's arms in the middle of your kitchen after she told you that your dog had fallen dead in front of your eyes. That is a painting in my mind of sadness, confusion, anger, and guilt.
I have been meaning to post this for awhile, but never had the guts to due to the second memory... :/
side note: this is my favorite post i have made on this blog
