1) Money
2) Appearance
3) People
4) The ability to be so dumb
5) Movies's based off of books
Okay, let's start with number one. Money. I honestly HATE money. I'm not saying I don't enjoy having it, it's just I don't like how money rules the world. Some people make money for stupid reasons or earn more than I believe they should. Actors and singers are my number one example. They earn thousands of dollars that they spend to make themselves look good. They only earn this money for making songs or movies. What I'm wondering is why do actors and singers make so much more money than doctors or police officers who risk their lives everyday to keep others safe and healthy? This also reminds me of when I watched a Doctor Who episode and the Doctor took Rose to the last day of Earth and the Doctor said something like "It's the end of the world and it still all comes down to money," or something. That quote isn't exact, but you get the idea. The whole world is based on how much money people have. Someone could be rich for something so stupid, while the poorest man on Earth could also be the smartest. Money just bothers me for these reasons.
Rant number two! People who care WAYYY too much about their appearance. It really bothers me that everyone wants to be stick thin. I am probably one of the skinniest people you could meet and I hate it. I hate how skinny I am. Many people, especially celebrities starve themselves to lose enough weight to be how skinny I am. I personally would rather be a little pudgier. Not to where it's a health hazard, but still larger than I am. Back in some time period a long time ago people wouldn't mind being a little larger. It showed that they had enough money to buy and eat whatever they wanted. Now people make it seem like the can't afford food, but really they choose to look that skinny. Another thing about appearance that bothers me is plastic surgery. I think that people should accept the body they are given and love for the way it is instead of surgically altering it. I think it's wrong and sometimes it makes people look worse than they were before. I actually remember going to camp awhile ago and one of the councilors said something along the lines of, "I don't care how I look, God will give me a new body in Heaven". I'm sorry if that goes against your religion, but those words were inspiring to me.
The next rant may seem a little weird, but it's about people in general. I'm not saying I don't like people, I just don't like some things people tend to do. The number one thing gets a rant all on its own so I'm going on to number two. That is overreacting/ worrying too much. It just annoys me when people come to me about something I have no control over and I can't help them with. An example is when someone is worried about how they did on a test. It drives me crazy when someone takes a test then says "Oh, I hope I did that right," or "I think I messed up on question blah blah blah" because honestly I can't go get your test and write a good grade on it. I also can't help you if you think you did something wrong. If you thought it was wrong, why didn't you fix it when you were taking the test instead of running to me saying what you did wrong? This is just one scenario, but you get the idea. Sometimes I just want to interrupt someone and yell "SHUT UP! I DON'T CARE!" however, I'm not that kind of person so I pretend to care and say "yupp", "okay", or "uh huh".
My number one annoyance with people is their ability to act or be so stupid! It seems like there are people who just don't have the ability to learn... anything... at all... ever. At school there are those people who will ask the stupidest questions ever. I know people say there is no such thing as a stupid question, and I agree. It's the people who ask the question that are stupid. Like a teacher will go over the whole lesson and they will ask the most straight forward question that sums up everything we talked about. For example, if a math teacher teaches you how to graph a parabola the stupid person will ask, "So, um, a parabola looks like this?" and then will continue to draw a curved line in the air that looks like a parabola. I just want to say, "Well duh! We just spent the whole class talking about them! What do you think is drawn on the board?! Random squiggly lines?" I just hold it in and ignore them.
My last rant is... Movies based off of books! Sometimes when a book is made into a movie, it is amazing. Other times, I want to know if the film makers even read the book or just a brief summary to go off of! I'm going to start my naming movies were good then movies that were painful to watch.
Good movies: Holes, most of the Harry Potter movies, The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe.
Painful movies: The Lightning Thief, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, Rebecca (well the version I watched anyway), Twilight.
Those are just some that I thought of at the moment, but I know I could make those lists longer. My point is that the painful movies list is longer. The reason why the Lightning Thief was bad is because it didn't follow the book AT ALL! They added a completely new scene that wasn't in the book, they kinda didn't follow the plot of the book. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince was bad because they didn't really focus on the story. They mainly payed attention to the romance in that book. (I shouldn't have to put this here considering that the sixth book has been out for how long now?! But I will anyways.) **SPOILERS** When Katie Bell touched the curse necklace I was surprised that they realized that that book wasn't all happy and romantic. They also left out some memories that Dumbledore shows Harry, which are kinda important. They also didn't show Dumbledore's funeral! **NO MORE SPOILERS AFTER THIS POINT** So basically, when a movie is made out of a book the producers and people should really read into the book and try not to add too much so it's a completely different story.
If you actually read everything, then I have wasted enough of your time. This is the end :)
